Big Woods Brewing's new HoneySuckle Red is newly on tap and last month, Lieutenant Gov. Becky Skillman presented Big Woods Brewing Co. with the "Indiana Main Street Business of the Year" award. The Indiana Main Street program honors outstanding local achievements in downtown revitalization and development. Their 1st anniversary is Thursday and a new Oatmeal Stout will be summoned out from it's Woodford Reserve barrel to celebrate at 7pm.

Roger Baylor is planning some group trips in 2011. "In late June or early July, Bamberg Beercycling (Northern Bavaria), and then in September, Belgian Beer Hunting via motorcoach, including the hop fest in Poperinge. Each will be 7-8 day durations, minimum, and details are forthcoming as I get to them. Let em know if you're interested." He's also posted pictures from previous trips.

Three Pints Brewpub will open in Plainfield Friday according to this news release. Not brewing yet. Nor is their web site.

Todd Antz of Keg Liquors reviews some wintery beers for the Clark County Focus.

The fire at Dark Horse affected the office, beer supply store, and a tattoo shop. The tap room was broken into and the local Fire Chief thinks the fire is suspicious. The brewpub is open and the brewery not affected.
