Misc News – Sept 7

Bloomington Brewing will release their Homegrown Pale Ale on Wed, Sept 8th. It uses their own organic hops from the Loesch Farm that Floyd Rosenbaum has grown. That's 50 Cascade vines on 14 ft poles and harvested by hand. He planted these in 2008.

Barley Island's Damien 666 Belgian Golden Strong is on tap at both locations (Noblesville and Broad Ripple). "Spicy belgian yeast aroma, sugary sweet taste with a dry finish, 35 IBUs featuring Saphir hops, 8.9% ABV"

Sam Adams' Longshot competition is down to 4 entries of which 2 will be brewed next year. Imperial IPA, Black American IPA, "Wheat ale brewed with honey and Goji berries added”, and an ale "brewed with Egyptian Chamomile, Hawaiian Honey and Heather tips.”

HowTo: Make a beer tray of solid ice. Maybe not the best idea but it will impress your Lite friends and it floats (for a while). The trial and error session is as cute as the kid.
