Upcoming Fort Wayne Beer Events - May 13

Join in the fun on Friday, May 17th, for Cap n' Cork's 3rd Annual Craft Beer Tasting.  Below are the details for this event:




Beoir Go Leoir:

Beoir Go Leoir (which is Gaelic for "lots of beer" and is pronounced "beer galore") is coming up on May 18. Tickets are limited, so get them now at the pub or at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/343870.  Also, Jason Dow from Bell's Brewery, will bring a firkin of Kalamazoo Stout. If you purchase a VIP ticket, you will also get to enjoy a couple of very special cellared beers: Barrel Aged Old Rasputin, 14th Anniversary Russian Imperial Stout by North Coast Brewing, and a Red Horizon ale brewed with sake yeast by Norway's famous Nøgne Ø Brewing Company.  If you are a true beer lover, don't miss your chance to sample these tasty beers!


JK's is closing the street in front of the pub with a huge tent, 40+ breweries represented and over 100 beers to sample.  Ticket prices are: General Admission is $40 in advance ($50 on the day of the event) and includes your very own signature tasting glass that's yours to take with you after the event. VIP admission is $65 ($75 on the day of the event) and includes a lanyard with a JK signature tasting glass and a T-shirt as well as a private hour to enjoy our appetizers and get a jump start on sampling the beers.

Friday, November 2:

Cap n' Cork located in Covington Plaza will be having a FREE beer tasting from 5p.m.-7p.m.  They will have the Monk's Cafe Sour Beer and beers from Flat 12, Victory, Boulevard, Abita, and various other breweries to sample.  Come out and sample some beers and find some new beers to enjoy this Fall!!   (Must be 21 years of age or older with valid Government-issued ID) http://capncork.com/

Monday, November 5:

JK O'Donnell's Irish Ale House in downtown will have their last local food dinner for 2012.  This one is being called "Hail to Kale" and it starts at 6:30p.m.  There will be six (6) courses of food paired with Bell's beers.  A Bell's representative will be at this event to share a firkin of Bell's Two Hearted beer.  The menu is available on JK's Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/JK-ODonnells-Irish-Ale-House/83904179658 along with information price and reservation information.

Upcoming Beer Events - Fort Wayne - October 9

Wednesday, October 10:

JK O'Donnell's Irish Ale House (http://www.jkodonnells.com/) located at 121 West Wayne Street, will be having a Bell's Tapping Night starting at 6p.m.  The list of available beers will be:

    Bell's The Oracle (Imperial/Double IPA)
    Bell's Octoberfest (Oktoberfest/Marzen)
    Bell's Two Hearted Ale (IPA)
    Bell's Oberon (Wheat Ale)
    Bell's Lager of the Lakes (Premium Lager)

There will also be some giveaways and they will also have some pumpkin beer on tap!  (Must be 21 years of age or older with valid Government-issued ID to purchase alcohol)

Friday, October 12:

Cap n' Cork (http://capncork.com/) located at 5430 Coldwater Road, will be having a FREE beer tasting from 5p.m.-7p.m.  Some of the approximately 14 breweries whose beers will be available for sampling are:

New Holland, Shipyard, Goose Island, Sierra Nevada, People's, Flat 12 and Upland just to name a "few"!!

Come out and sample some pumpkin and ciders beers and perhaps find some new beers to enjoy during this cooler weather.  (Must be 21 years of age or older with valid Government-issued ID)

Fort Wayne and New Haven Beer Tappings - September 21

Dash-In:

I just came across this beer update on their Facebook page:

"We've brought back Southern Tier's Pumking (8.6% abv)!!

We also have a variety of new Pumpkin Beers and IPAs ready to be tapped. We just need YOU to come on down to the Dash-In and help us finish off a couple of our other beers to make room on our taps! That being said, we're putting Founder's Cerise Cherry(6.5% abv) on sale for $4.00.

We've also tapped an Oktoberfest from Germany:

Hacker-Pschorr's Oktoberfest (5.8% abv) - Bavarian barley slow roasted, caramelized to a rich, red amber color combined with the purest spring waters from the Alps, exclusive yeast and the finest Hallertau hops."

The Dash-In is one of my "go to" beer places and is well worth stopping at as they always have a great selection of beers on tap in a variety of styles.  They also have bottled beers as well as carryout beers.  They are located downtown at 814 S. Calhoun Street and their phone number is

JK O'Donnell's Irish Ale House:

They have just put on their new beer menu so it will be interesting to see what beers have been added to the menu.  They also have Three Floyds Arctic Panzer Wolf and Schmaltz Genesis on the rotating taps and Victory Mojo on the Hop Handle.  JK's is located downtown at 121 W. Fort Wayne & Beyond Events - August 9

Friday, August 10:

Belmont Beverage, 10311 Illinois Rd., will be having a Taste of Indiana event starting at 6p.m.  They will have beers from around the state of Indiana available for sampling.  This is a FREE event.  (Must be 21 yrs. of age or older with valid Government issued ID).

Cap n' Cork, 6712 E. State Blvd., will be having a FREE beer tasting from 5p.m.-7p.m.  They will be featuring beers from Boulevard Brewing Company to sample.  (Must be 21 yrs. of age or older with valid Government issued ID).

Starting Tuesday, August 14, and for the remainder of August:

JK O'Donnell's Irish Ale House, 121 Wayne Street, will be celebrating their 5 Year Anniversary.  They will have some limited edition Anniversary glassware for sale (each glass comes with a free draft beer inside) according to their Facebook page.

Saturday, August 25:

AleFest Daytonhttp://www.alefest.com/dayton.htm) takes place from 2p.m.-5p.m. at Carillon Historical Park.  $35.00 in advance ($40.00 day of the event)

The price of admission includes 20 samples of craft beer, tasting glass, sampling guide, live entertainment, and raffle entry for a Yuengling Brewery trip.

Designated driver/non-drinker $15.00 and are purchased at the gate. The cost includes a bottle of water and an AleFest sampling glass as you exit.

Fort Wayne and New Haven News - July 3

Dash-In in downtown Fort Wayne just tapped these beers:

Great Divide - Wolfgang Dopplebock (8.0% abv)

Tyranena - Scurvy IPA (6.5% abv)

Six Point - Resin Double IPA (9.1% abv)

Dogfish Head - Palo Santo Brown Ale (12.0% abv)

Weihenstephaner Hefe, Stone  IPA and  Founder's  Old Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale

Cap n' Cork, 1031 Broadway, will be having a FREE beer tasting on Friday, July 6th, from 5p.m.-7p.m.  They will have beers for sampling from Four Horsemen, Founders, New Belgium, Left Hand, Stone, and Tyranena to name a "few".  Come out and sample some beers and perhaps find a new beer or two to enjoy this summer!  (Must be 21 years of age or older with government issued photo ID)

Stone IPA on the hop handle and Tyranena Brewer's Gone Wild Dirty Old Man (Rye Porter, 7.9% ABV) and Sierra Nevada Hoptimum (Imperial IPA, 10.4% ABV).
