Fort Wayne/New Haven Events/Updates - July 18
It is GREAT seeing more and more beer events taking place in Fort Wayne as more and more people are taking the leap into trying microbrewed beers and liking them!! Having said that, I met up with a friend last week who was not extremely familiar with microbrews and my friend started sampling like there was no tomorrow! After all was said and done, my friend not only ended up drinking not one, but two of the Flat 12 Moustache Rider beers, and wants to get together soon and go to a couple of beer establishments in downtown Fort Wayne! It just goes to show that one doesn't know unless one tries!!

The event will take place at Headwaters Park West in downtown Fort Wayne from 2p.m.-6p.m. The ticket price is $25 and includes a commemorative t-shirt, tasting glass, unlimited beer samples, and live music. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at http://www.madbrew.com/ or any Mad Anthony location. There are also various other beer events scheduled the week of the OktoBEERfest and there will be more details forthcoming.
The Peach Wheat beer is currently on tap at Mad Anthony Brewing Company in Fort Wayne and I will be going there this week to check out this beer. Also the Dark American Wheat is on tap at their Auburn, IN location.

Today at Belmont Beverage, Times Corner, from 6p.m.-9p.m., sample beers being poured by representatives from Cavalier Distributing and Five Star Distributing. There will be approximately 10-15 beers available for sampling per a Belmont Beverage employee.
Fort Wayne Free Beer Tastings - April 15
Cap n' Cork Dupont location (10020 Lima Road) - Today from 5p.m.-7p.m. they will have numerous beers available from Boulevard Brewing Company to sample. Come out and perhaps find a new summer beer to enjoy this summer. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older with valid photo ID. Tomorrow, April 16th, Belmont Beverage (10311 Illinois Road-in the Shoppes at Illinois Road) will be hosting a beer tasting from 4p.m.-7p.m. At last count from Belmont personnel, there will be approximately 35 beers or so for sampling. There will be will industry representatives from AALCO, Cavalier Distruting, Five Star Distributing, Mad Anthony Brewing Company, and World Class Beverages. There will be free appetizers provided by Aboite Grill, artisan cheeses from the Wisconsin Cheeseman and coffee drinks from Espresso Gallery Coffee Roasters. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older with valid photo ID.

This Sunday, March 6th, Dash-In http://www.thedashin.com in downtown on Calhoun Street will be hosting their first beer dinner. Four Goose Island reserve beers + one surprise on draft will be served in conjuntion with a four course meal prepared by Chef Paul Liming. Seating is limited to 40 attendees. The cost is $40/ticket. I did a walkthrough of the beer area with Ron the Store Manager and the beer area includes: 13 shelves of beer, a beer cave with five (5) beer shelves and 9 cold case doors. The Grand Opening will take place after the 1st of the new year and there will also be free beer tastings throughout the year. Stop by and welcome Ron and his staff to the Illinois Rd. area and see what he has to offer.

Mark your calendar for the following events:
- Belmont Beverage (Lima Road) will have a free beer tasting this Thursday, the 21st, from 4p.m.-6p.m. pouring numerous Bell's beers.
- Brewfest 2010 will be held downtown at the Masonic Temple (216 E. Washington) on Saturday, March 20th, from 2p.m.-6p.m. The cost is $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
