I would love to see a Notch style brewery open up here though and do nothing but sub 4.5% beers. I draw my line at 4.5%.

The best we can hope for in America is that true session beers become a niche product within a niche product.

If we could get American brewers to stop treating cask condition beer like an experimental randal and put a proper ESB or mild on cask life would be good.

I would also think as the price of beer continues to escalate someone could produce a low ABV and tasty beer with less fermentables and would could have a sub 10$ sixer in Indianapolis. Wishful thinking on my part. Green Flash does some good stuff (palate wrecker, double stout, le freak, hop head red) but their flagship beer, West Coast IPA, falls considerably off the mark for me. I went mountain bike riding in Castleton near Scotty's Brewhouse for the first time. Absolutely kicked my ass. So i decided to stop at Payless Liquors on 96th St. Very rarely do I ever run into a fresh 6 pack of Founders Centennial IPA so i jumped all over that. Bottled about 2 weeks ago. Just drank one. Sublime.

I was pretty jacked about Green Flash finally hitting Indiana. Kind of pisses me off knowing they're opening a production brewery in Virginia Beach because I lived there for about 8 years but yeah, knowing their beers were hitting our state had me excited. I've traded for their beers in the past and usually grab a few when I'm in Chicago.

I wanted to grab some today but what's the deal with them just hitting our market with most bottles timestamped from May? Not to be a freshness snob but I want my IPA's as fresh as possible and delivering 3 month old hop bombs (delicious when fresh) to a new market isn't the best way to go about things

- MikeAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00821529859877061586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4318114102761112647.post-17381084139291113452013-07-27T16:32:54.119-04:002013-07-27T16:32:54.119-04:00Forgot to mention Flat 12's Funkofile Dundee ...Forgot to mention Flat 12's Funkofile Dundee in the VIP Experience tent first tapping ... very good beer!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05996846965156877085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4318114102761112647.post-86381598175611670332013-07-24T21:13:07.121-04:002013-07-24T21:13:07.121-04:00It was definitely an excellent festival with great...It was definitely an excellent festival with great beers, breweries, volunteers and attendees.
