The most important story of the day is on The Indianapolis Business Journal as it tells the tale of 3 New Microbreweries planned for Indy. Triton, Darren Conner's Bier Brewery & Taproom, and Flat 12 Bierwerks recently licensed downtown, Well, four because they mention Scott Wise's effort in Broad Ripple. Best quote: "Beer should taste good — it’s not an acquired taste." – Darren Conner.
The Terre Haute Trib-Star has a smarmy “I’m 55 years old and think it is an honor to ask me” look at ID requirements while the National Association of Convenience Stores says "However, one state representative thinks the law is overkill. “It almost seems silly to ask anyone who goes in to buy beer to show their ID. That’s not how the minors are getting alcohol, said Rep. Woody Burton."

"Indianapolis, Ind. -- Southern Wine and Spirits of Indiana Inc., announced that it will locate its newest regional office and distribution center here, creating a combined 200 new jobs at two Central Indiana facilities." article
Basically, this country-wide Florida-based distributor is looking to become a distributor in Greenwood with a building about 40% the size of Monarch's in Lawrence. They'll get $1.4M in tax credits as an "incentive". They are mainly, like it says, wine and spirits. In other states they do handle 2nd-tier beers such as Anchor, Asahi, Brew Brothers, Estrella, Keo, Pete's, Shiner, etc. so they could bring in a few more micros, competing statewide with World Class and Cavalier, but we'd expect their portfolio to be quite small.
Recalls, part 2: Goose Island has recalled some Matilda for sourness issues. Seems some Lacto got in the Brett. (Isn't that how Reeses Sourbutter Cups got invented?) The recall involves the following bottles so if you are a real sourhead enjoy them while they still are around <grin>:
