Brew Bracket 5: AMBERgeddon!

This competition is better than the rest because YOU get to help decide the winner brew. 

How does it work? 

400 attendees sampling beer from 16 breweries in a March Madness style bracket taste off.  After 4 hours of blind tastings, 4 rounds of voting a winner is announced!

So come one, come all to the Indiana State Fairgrounds on December 8th from 12:30-5pm to participate in this fun, beer swillin' time for only $35 which also helps out a great cause - Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc.

Another Winterfest Post - February 2

Another Winterfest has come and gone and by all that I observed it was another huge success.  Beer, beer and more beer in all directions.  People, people and more people in all directions.  My focus this year was making my way through the throngs of people to the newer breweries in attendance whose beers I had not already had an opportunity to sample before this event.  I sampled beers from:  Cutters, Das Big Dawg Brewhaus, Four Horsemen Brewing Co., Against the Grain Brewery, Bulldog Brewing Co., Triton Brewing Co., Three Pints Brewing, Finch's Beer Co., Black Swan Brewpub, and Fountain Square Brewing.  I was not disappointed with any of their beers that I sampled and even went back to a few of the tables for more samples. 

I look forward to next year's Winterfest and hopefully to even more new breweries in attendance.

Bulldog Brewing Company - Whiting

The soft opening for Bulldog Brewing Company was scheduled for Saturday, October 8 and although I would have loved to attend I decided against it.  As I have been told by someone close to the brewery, the state of Indiana had, as of Saturday, not released the necessary brewing permit.

A "Grand Opening" is scheduled for sometime in the near future and in the interim Bulldog is offering a decent selection of other craft beers with their limited menu.

From the list of beers detailed on their website, Bulldog Brewing Company might be a new destination for craft beer fans, although I'll reserve my judgment after I actually have a few pints.

On a totally different note, I know the two are entirely different in form, but the script "B" for Bulldog is eerily similar to the "B" for Brooklyn Brewery.
