The “America’s Finest Beer Festival” (yep, that’s its name) scheduled for this past weekend in San Diego was cancelled just before it started due to lack of finances to pay for up-front costs. They couldn’t pay for stage, tents, tables, etc. Looks like they spent it all on a “$110,000 media campaign in magazine advertising, radio stations, TV appearances and street teams”. Yike. apology
Sunoco in western New York is trying the “Craft Beer Exchange”. Yep, get your growlers filled at the gas station. Tröegs, Flying Bison, Middle Ages Brewing, Ommegang, Magic Hat, Dogfish Head, Ithica, Stone, Lake Placid Brewing, etc. “On the largest scale we serve Samuel Adams, but nothing from AB In-Bev or MolsonCoors.” Prices from $8 to $17. article – more pictures.
